Major construction works for a new all-ability accessible pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Brooker Avenue in Hobart will start later this month.
To ensure the safety of the community, several
road and footpath closures and detours will be implemented. As road conditions
change, RACT urges all road users to travel with care through the area.
Glebe residents’ access to the city may be
affected over the duration of the construction works, with the closure of the
footpath in the University Rose Gardens closest to Brooker Avenue, between
Railway Roundabout and the UTAS School of Nursing and Midwifery.
The bridge is part of a Transforming Hobart
project, which aims to improve Hobart’s pedestrian and cycling network.
Construction is set to be completed in early 2019.
