Tasmanian fuel information

Call for fuel price transparency!

The RACT is calling on the State Government to urgently address concerns about fuel price transparency in the state. With around 40% of fuel retailers no longer supplying fuel price data, the RACT can no longer supply Tasmanian motorists with accurate fuel price information for Tasmania.

As a result, from 19 July RACT Fuelwatch services here and Twitter will no longer operate.

Members will be kept informed via our Member Hub as this campaign progresses.

ACCC Launceston Fuel Price Findings

The ACCC has handed down its report on the price of fuel in Launceston.  It found that Launceston motorists are paying up to 12c per litre more than interstate counterparts.  The ACCC has called for increased competition to bring down the price.

RACT is concerned that supermarket chains hold 25% of sites but have over 50% market share.  RACT is encouraged by the ACCC finding that the RACT / United fuel discount has impacted on prices bringing them down significantly.
