RACT Member Benefits
  • Q. How do I find out all the benefits of my membership?

When joining the RACT you will receive our Product & Service Guide which provides a full outline of all the benefits associated with your RACT membership. If you've misplaced this guide email membership@ract.com.au or pick one up from your nearest RACT branch.

  • Q. Does my membership give me discounts anywhere else?

Yes. In addition to the discounts that you receive on many RACT services, special member offers are available through our Show Your Card & Save program. Check out the online directory for further information.

  • Q. I'm driving to Brisbane. Can the RACT provide me with maps?

Yes. RACT Touring Services provide a large range of strip maps at discounted costs to members. Regional maps and information on tourist attractions can also be provided.

  • Q. I'm not a member and my car has broken down. What do I do to join?

If you call the RACT on 13 11 11, a patrol will attend to your call for emergency road service. However, you will be required to pay a service premium which is currently $60 in addition to 2 years annual Roadside Advantage membership fees and joining fee. You can not join as an RACT Roadside Ultimate member "on-road".

  • Q. My work has just transferred me interstate. What do I do about my membership?

By producing your RACT membership card to the motoring club in your new state, you can receive a credit of the unused subscription towards payment with the interstate club.

  • Q. I am moving to Tasmania. Can I transfer my membership to RACT?

Yes simply present your membership card from your interstate club and we will provide RACT Roadside membership up to the date of your current membership expiry at no charge.

Conditions of Membership
  • Q. Are members of my family covered by my membership?

No, membership is personal and covers you no matter which vehicle you are driving. You can add other family members as part of a membership group and receive discounts based on the number of members in the group. The more members the more you save.   • Q. Am I covered if I break down while driving someone else's car?

Yes, because RACT membership is personal, you are covered no matter whose car you are driving. We will even provide service if you are a passenger in the car as long as you are present with the vehicle when the RACT technician attends.

  • Q. If I cancel my membership during the year, can I get a refund?

The RACT has a no refund policy on joining fees and annual membership subscriptions. Pro-rata refunds are not available.

However, if you wish to cancel your membership because you are moving interstate, you will be able to transfer your membership to the local motoring club. Just contact the club when you arrive.

  • Q. I am a pensioner. Do I get a discount on my membership?

No, there are no concessions on membership subscriptions, however RACT's Group Pricing Options will allow you to receive discounts of up to 25% on Ultimate membership when you are part of a membership group. Link to Group Pricing Options.

  • Q. How much does RACT membership cost?

  • Q. Can I renew my membership online?

Yes. The RACT offers this service. If you have your renewal notice, click here to pay your membership by credit card.

  • Q. Which credit cards do you accept?

RACT accepts Mastercard or Visa.

  • Q. Can I renew my membership at the post office?

No, Australia Post does not accept RACT payments. You can renew your membership in person at any RACT branch, over the phone, by mail, online or by B-Pay

  • Q. Are there any additional charges if I elect to pay by Direct Debit?

No, there are no additional charges for paying by Direct Debit and you can nominate payments to be drawn from either your financial institution or credit card.

Change of Details
  • Q. I've changed my address, how do I let you know?

You can change your address by dropping into your local RACT branch or calling us on 13 27 22.
