The Moonah Taste of the World Festival is a unique, annual multicultural event celebrating the rich cultural diversity of the Glenorchy municipality. The Festival features include fantastic culinary delights from around the world; a brilliant diversity of world music and dance, featuring a stunning range of colourful costumes; and a global showcase of arts and culture.
It is completely free entry into the Festival and there will also be a free shuttle service from the Hopkins Street Moonah car park to the Festival running all day.
The Festival has three major components:
Taste of the World
An exciting mix of community and commercial food stalls. Multicultural communities are able to share the unique tastes of their homeland with the broader community and celebrate their heritage, and local business have the opportunity to showcase their produce and promote dining destinations within the Glenorchy municipality.
An entertainment program across two stages which incorporates a number of unique cultural performances from local, interstate and national musicians and dance groups.
Showcase Cultural Diversity at its best
An opportunity to showcase the cultures of Southern Tasmania's culturally and linguistically diverse communities and celebrate the skills of community members through cooking demonstrations, displays, crafts and cultural activities.
