The construction of a new all-accessible bridge connecting the Cenotaph and Queens Domain over the Tasman Highway in Hobart will enhance the safety of pedestrians and cyclists.
As work on the bridge commences, RACT urges all road users to stay alert as conditions change in the area.
To ensure the safety of the community and to reduce ongoing delays, a series of road closures will be implemented, including the Tasman Highway between Liverpool Street and Davies Avenue during the final stages of construction.
RACT will update motorists with the full list of road closures once they have been confirmed by the City of Hobart.
Construction of the bridge abutments has already commenced in the Cenotaph off McVilly Drive, as well as in Queens Domain near the Doone Kennedy Hobart Aquatic Centre.
The project is expected to be completed later this year.
