Motorist advice: MRA Toy Run road closures
Tasmania Police has advised motorists of road closures and possible delays this Saturday (December 3) due to the annual Motorcycle Riders Association Toy Run.
Road closures will be in place from about 2pm and the ride will start from the Derwent Entertainment Centre at 2.30pm, finishing at Franklin Wharf at about 3.30pm.
Roads affected are:
- Brooker Highway to southbound traffic, between the Berridale on-ramp (Strathaven Drive) and Davey St, Hobart.
- Tasman Highway (bridge off-ramp) to southbound traffic at McVilley Drive.
- Davey St between the Tasman Highway and Murray St.
Vehicles will not be permitted to cross the route during the event.
The Hobart waterfront bordered by Davey St, Salamanca Place, Castray Esplanade and Elizabeth St will be closed to vehicles from 2-5pm.
Tasmania Police said the road closures would occur only when participants were on or approaching that section of roadway.
Police will be in attendance to manage traffic and will stop or direct traffic away from the event route.
