We are committed to being actively engaged in the Tasmanian community and support opportunities for our employees to be able to “give back”.
The RACT is dedicated to being an outstanding corporate citizen. As such, we are committed to enhancing life in Tasmania and supporting the community in which we live and work.
We value our staff members and give them the opportunity each year to participate in volunteer work where they can help utilise their broad set of skills and give back to the community.

Have a read below to see what RACT Volunteers have helped out within the past few months.
Each year as a Christmas gift, thousands of shoeboxes filled
with gifts are packed and shipped to children in impoverished regions of the
world. This provides not only the child, but their family and community
with a life-transforming tangible expression of love. RACT employees spent
a day at the warehouse helping check the contents in shoeboxes to ensure
appropriate items were contained. Between them, they were able to check 750
shoe boxes in 6 hours!
Mona 24 Carrot Gardens Program
The sun was shining and the shovels were ready! Whether the staff were experts at gardening or knew nothing about it, this day was suitable for all! Through Mona’s 24 Carrot Gardens Program, RACT employees helped out at Glenorchy Primary school to install drain pipes below their garden bed to help drain excess water. The students even got to help out – they were extremely proud of their veggie garden!
Guide Dogs Tasmania
The task of a donor mail out can often be quite a lengthy process for staff at Guide Dogs Tasmania and can take up to a week to complete in between their regular duties. With the help of RACT employees volunteering in the office for a day, they were able to fill 6,000 envelopes in 6 hours! They even got some cuddles with the Guide Dogs Tasmania ambassador, Dexter in between!
