Relay for Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council's research, prevention and support services.

RACT Insurance are proud to support Relay for Life in Tasmania and had the pleasure of being involved in the North West Relay for Life at Penguin, and the Hobart Relay for Life this year.

Team RACT were lucky enough to have a number of staff and customers register to walk with us this year, raising over $2,200 across both events. We are always humbled to hear the stories of survivors and carers around the track, and to see the team tents adorned with tributes to loved ones lost to cancer.

Each year at Penguin and Hobart, RACT Insurance sponsor a luxury VIP Marquee. The top fundraising teams each get entered into a prize draw to win the marquee for the weekend. This year, 'Team 60' won the Penguin VIP Marquee, with "Team Millar' winning the Hobart VIP Marquee. Both teams were treated to comfy beds, plush sofas, modern decor and lots of other goodies to reward them for their fundraising efforts.

RACT Insurance were also proud to be able to award a 'random act of kindness' to a carer and survivor at each event. Each were awarded with a Fitbit to show recognition and support of their courage and fight against cancer.

It was a record breaking year for Hobart, with 127 teams registered, 2,227 participants, and over $332,000 raised. Penguin also had a fantastic year with 71 teams registered, 982 participants and over $166,000 raised. We are looking forward to being part of Penguin's 20th anniversary next year and hope it will be a record breaker for the North West event.
