RACT welcomes start on Perth Link Roads project

The RACT has welcomed the State Government’s announcement of a start on the Perth Link Roads project, part of the 10-year Midland Highway Plan.

The $92.3 million Perth Link Roads project will deliver the final link in a dual carriageway along the Midland Highway from Launceston to the south of Perth.

‘The completion of the Midland Highway 10-year Plan is something for which we have advocated for many years,’ RACT Executive General Manager, Membership and Community, Stacey Pennicott said.

‘It was also identified by our members as the single most important road listed in our 2017 Member Survey and was included in our Election Priorities in last year’s State Election.

‘When the 10-year plan is completed, the entire length of highway will be upgraded to a minimum 3-star AusRAP safety rating, which is an important step in ensuring all of our road users are safe.’

The Perth Link Roads project will improve safety and reduce congestion in the area, diverting heavy vehicles and traffic from the Perth town centre.
