Motorists should expect delays of up to 15 minutes due to a series of road closures between 1 – 4 February 2019 for the installation of a new all-abilities pedestrian and bicycle bridge over Brooker Avenue.
Two complete road closures will occur between 7pm Friday 1 February – 11am Sunday 3 February and 5pm Sunday 3 February – 6am Monday 4 February and will impact the following roads:
- Brooker Avenue between Liverpool Street and Brisbane Street and an adjoining section of Bathurst Street.
- Bathurst Street between Campbell Street and Brooker Avenue.
- The intersection of Edward Street and Brooker Avenue. Access to and from Edward Street will be via Aberdeen or Glebe Streets.
A partial road closure between 11am – 5pm Sunday 3 February will also be implemented. Two lanes, southbound and northbound on Brooker Avenue between Liverpool Street and Brisbane Street, will be open. Bathurst Street, between Campbell Street and Brooker Avenue, will remain closed.
Please note, vehicles turning right onto Brooker Avenue at the Warwick Street and Brooker Avenue, and the Burnett Street and Brooker Avenue intersections, will only have access to Davenport, Lillie and Scott Streets. Vehicles turning left will not be restricted.
Motorists are urged to plan ahead and allow for extra time, to drive with care and to follow the instructions of detour signs and traffic controllers.
