Charging station to be installed at RACT House

A dual connector AC electric vehicle charging station will be installed at  RACT House in Murray St after the organisation received a ChargeSmart grant from the State Government.

The grant application was made as part of our commitment to sustainability and future mobility in Tasmania, and to support and incentivise staff to have electric vehicles.

“As the state’s peak motoring body, we want to lead the way in providing access to the latest in electric vehicle technology for our staff,” RACT Executive General Manager, Membership and Community, Stacey Pennicott said.

“Over time, we anticipate our vehicle fleet will also move towards electric charging and this technology will be integral in our organisation’s future.”

It is expected the charging station will be operational next year. This follows installation of Tesla charging stations at all of our Destinations properties in 2016.
