A new work environment

With the help of her four-legged family member, Fran from our Hobart customer service team shares some insight on how she’s mindfully working from home.

Like a lot of people in the Tassie community, the team here at RACT are also adapting to changes brought on by COVID-19, including working from our homes. Fran Spurr from our Hobart customer service team shares tips on how she is mindful in balancing work and home life.

“The biggest challenge has been the change of scenery and sound, the busy office I am used to, is now my very quiet kitchen. Each day comes with different feelings to this ever changing situation, I try to start my day by writing down something I am thankful for and at the end of the day write down something I would do differently. It’s a great way to reflect on your day and release any thoughts you may have.

I have someone in my family that is really happy that I’m working from home and that is my dog. I walk with him in my lunch break and after work; the regular exercise keeps my mental and physical health in check but also keeps me from getting restless during the day.

The customer service team is set up with virtual group message boards where we catch up on how we are going and share tips on working from home. We share pictures and stories from home, people swap recipes, fitness tips and the occasional funny video!”
