Launceston branch refurbishment

RACT will commence a major refurbishment of our Launceston branch this week, which will include new spaces for staff to better serve and interact with our members and customers, as well as enhanced access and parking.

Opened in 1973, the branch has seen some changes in the past 45 years, including moving roadside, driver training and child restraints to our AutoServe site in Cimitiere St, which opened in 2016.

The current branch on the corner of George and York streets is no longer the best use of space for our staff, members and customers, and so we have decided to refurbish.

All of our current services will remain at the branch, but we will be able to serve our members and customers in a much more modern, spacious and flexible environment.

The refurbishment continues our commitment to investing in our branch network, after upgrades to our Burnie and Devonport branches in the past five years.

There will be a staged approach to the refurbishment to minimise disruption, and we aim to complete the works mid-year.
