Celebrate. Remember. Fight Back - Relay for Life 2019
Relay for Life is a fun and moving overnight experience that raises vital funds for the Cancer Council's research, prevention and support services. RACT Insurance are proud to support Relay for Life in Tasmania and will once again have the pleasure of being involved in the North West Relay for Life, and the Hobart Relay for Life.
The Hobart Relay for Life will take place at the Domain Athletic Centre, starting with the opening ceremony at 1pm, Saturday 23 March and concluding with the closing ceremony at 9am Sunday 24 March. The North West Relay for Life will take place at Penguin Athletic Track, starting with the opening ceremony at 1pm Saturday 16th March and concluding with the closing ceremony at 9am Sunday 17th March. These events will give the North West and Hobart communities the chance to recognise and celebrate local cancer survivors, patients and their carers, to honour and remember loved ones lost to cancer and to raise money to help save more lives.
With two months left to go, Hobart teams have already raised nearly $27,000 of their $250,000 goal, and North West teams have also raised nearly $27,000 of their $200,000 goal.
To encourage as much fundraising as possible for this cause, RACT Insurance will be providing a luxury VIP Marquee to the top fundraising teams in Hobart and North West. They can look forward to a weekend of glamping, with a long list of luxury inclusions to reward them for all their hard work!
RACT Insurance have been supporting Relay for Life for a number of years and are always humbled to hear the stories of survivors, patients and carers around the track. We recently met with long time relayer and 2018 Global Hero of Hope recipient, Sue King. Sue is just one of only three cancer survivors in Australia to receive this honour. Click here to see her inspiring Real Tasmanian Story.
Stay tuned for updates and information on how you can get involved, including how you can donate to Team RACT or even join us on the track for a few laps.
