Toyota Corolla receives five star ANCAP safety rating

Australia’s top-selling passenger car, the Toyota Corolla, has received a five star ANCAP safety rating.

After rigorous testing, the new generation Toyota Corolla hatch achieved high scores in all four key areas of the ANCAP assessment, receiving:

96% - Adult Occupant Protection

83% - Child Occupant Protection

86% - Vulnerable Road User Protection

76% - Safety Assist

ANCAP Chief Executive Mr James Goodwin said the safety improvements in this generation of Toyota Corolla are a significant step forward and they demonstrate that safety is affordable and accessible.

“The Corolla is a trusted nameplate and Australia and New Zealand’s highest selling passenger car, so it is encouraging to see this affordable, volume-seller continue to achieve a high safety standard,” Mr Goodwin said.

As standard, all variants of the new generation Toyota Corolla offer advanced collision avoidance technologies, including autonomous emergency braking and lane keep assist.

The five star ANCAP safety rating applies to all petrol and hybrid Toyota Corolla hatch variants available in Australia and New Zealand.
