Sue Smith, of Ulverstone, joined the Board in 2014. She is a Director of RACT Destinations Pty Ltd and a member of the RACT's Audit, Road & Traffic and the North West Regional Advisory Committees, the later which focuses on regional road safety and traffic issues.
Prior to joining the Board of RACT Sue had dedicated the majority of her career to serving Tasmania's North West community since first being elected as a local councillor for Ulverstone in 1981. Sue has subsequently held the positions of Central Coast Mayor, the President of the Local Government of Association of Tasmania and was an independent member of the Legislative Council of Tasmania for 16 years.
Sue became the first woman to hold the position of President of the Legislative Council of Tasmania in 2008 and held that position until taking a decision to step down in 2013.
Sue is Chair of MAST, an independent director of the Tasmanian Farmers and Graziers Association and independent Chair of Audit Panels - Central Coast and Devonport City Council.
