Are you eligible for rego concessions?
When registering your car, have you checked if you're eligible for concessions? You could be saving money!
The Tasmanian Government is working on alleviating some of the cost of living pressures for Tasmanians, with a current focus on car registration costs.
Discount rates are available for eligible vehicle operators including registration duty, motor taxes, compulsory third party insurance premiums, and vehicle registration fees.
Tasmanians holding a pensioner, concession or health care card, those on TPI (totally and permanently incapacitated) pension, those with severe disability and some asylum seekers are all eligible for these concessions.
Savings available include up to 100 per cent exemption from duty on vehicle registration applications and transfers, 40 per cent rebate on motor tax for commercial vehicles or 100 per cent for personal vehicles, a $56 discount on MAIB third party insurance premiums and up to $55.37 on vehicle rego fees.
For a full list of the concessions available, please visit Discounts and Concessions on the Tasmanian Government website.
