    • Mobility services

      Through our branches and call centre we’re focused on building connections with our customers to deliver a great standard of service.

      Our team receive a broad range of training opportunities and online resources to empower them. This gives them the expertise required to help customers make decisions on the right products and services to suit their changing life stages.

      We offer a range of motoring and safety products that provide peace of mind solutions across a range of services. We’ll get you on the road with learn to drive packages, car seats and vehicle inspections.

      Our highly qualified and experienced driving instructors deliver driver education, training and road safety. This provides the skills required to take our trainees through their driving lifetime as well as passing their test.

      To keep you motoring we’ll be there with roadside assistance and vehicle servicing and repairs through our AutoServe. Our team of highly trained automotive technicians and mechanics not only take care of your vehicle but ensure that our members have all the information they need about the repairs.

    • Tourism and hospitality

      We operate tourism properties and attractions located in beautiful, iconic natural environments at Strahan, Cradle Mountain and the Freycinet Peninsula.

      These include Freycinet Lodge, Cradle Mountain Hotel, Strahan Village and Gordon River Cruises.

      Our team members, regardless of their roles, are passionate about creating connections with our guests to provide them with a memorable Tasmanian experience.

    • What happens after I apply?

    • What style of interview should I expect?

      Our shortlisting process includes phone screening and if your application progresses a more detailed interview will be undertaken.

      We use behavioural interview techniques. You’ll be asked questions designed to allow you to tell us about how your previous patterns of behaviour, accomplishments and capabilities align with the role.

    • Are there any additional screening and assessments needed?
      Recruitment for certain roles may include additional screening such as pre-employment health checks, psychometric testing and background checks. We’ll inform you during the interview process if this applies.
    • What if I'm not an Australian citizen or permanent resident?
      To be employed by us you must be an Australian or New Zealand citizen or hold a relevant working visa. Status will be verified as part of an overall background check prior to appointment to a role.
    • How is my information collected and used?

      Recruitment Privacy Statement

      The Royal Automobile Club of Tasmania Limited, RACT Insurance Pty Ltd, Members Travel Group Pty Ltd (trading as RACT Travel), RACT Destinations Pty Ltd, companies owned and controlled by those listed companies, their subsidiaries and associated entities (collectively “Group” or “we”) have a Group Privacy Policy as well as this Statement, which outlines in greater detail how we collect, store, use, amend and disclose your personal information.

      Collection, use and disclosure of personal or sensitive information

       Your personal information is being collected solely for the purpose of recruitment and assessing your application for employment and may be disclosed to third parties involved in the talent acquisition process including but not limited to, educational institutions, referees, contractors and external organisations engaged to conduct recruitment assessments and checks.

      Failure to provide the requested information may affect our ability to assess and further your application.

      The types of information we may collect include:

      • information from your resume or application form – including name, address, contact details, skills and other employment history;
      • academic transcripts or qualifications;
      • referee details;
      • information collected during the interview process;
      • other miscellaneous information that is disclosed by you;
      • criminal checks, medical information and other pre-employment screening checks; and if successful
      • superannuation, tax, salary, bank account and emergency contact information.

      The personal information you provide in your application will be used during the course of the recruitment process. We may distribute this information internally and may also disclose the information to third parties as required (including for the purposes of performance background checks).


      How we collect personal information

      We may collect this information directly from you, from referees, from government/public bodies, from publicly available websites or through recruitment agencies or other specialist background/pre-employment screening agencies.

      Retention of your personal information

      If you are a successful applicant your information will form part of your employee record. Your employee record will comprise the information provided as part of recruitment as well as information about employment, including health, recruitment, terms and conditions of employment, performance, discipline and termination. Employee records are exempt from the provisions of the Privacy Act although it is the Group’s policy to apply a reasonable standard of confidentiality to the collection, use and storage of such information.

      If you are an unsuccessful applicant your information will be retained for a period of six months after which your information will be destroyed.

      Overseas Disclosure

      Your information will be held and stored in a secure location (which may include offshore data storage in countries including the USA, Canada, Singapore, European Union or the United Kingdom).

      Updating or correcting your personal information

      We take all reasonable steps to ensure that your personal information is accurate, complete and up to date. To assist us, please contact our People Services team if any of the details you provided have changed.

      If you believe that information we hold about you is incorrect, or if you have concerns about how we’re handling your personal information, then please contact us and we will make all reasonable efforts to correct your information.
