Tasmania’s only locally based insurer is celebrating national recognition after taking out an esteemed insurance award at last night's ceremony in Sydney.

Hosted by the Australian and New Zealand Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF), the awards celebrate exceptional accomplishments within the insurance sector.

RACT won the prestigious Small to Medium General Insurance Company of the Year Award for its work in 2022. Chief Insurance Officer Paul Sofronoff said the organisation was thrilled to be celebrated on the national stage.

“This recognition highlights our unrelenting dedication to serving our members and the Tasmanian community,” Mr Sofronoff said.

“We’re overjoyed to have been acknowledged nationally for the work we do for our members, including advocacy, road safety, and community engagement programs.

“This award also recognises the work we do to develop our staff and create an environment where they can best serve our members.

“Winning this esteemed accolade for the fourth time is a testament to RACT's continuous pursuit of excellence and our remarkable staff, who consistently go above and beyond.

“Our team's unwavering determination, hard work and commitment are integral in making awards of this stature possible.

“I extend my heartfelt thanks to every team member for their tireless efforts and passion for the Tasmanian community.”

Mr Sofronoff said as Tasmania's only local insurance provider, RACT was committed to being there for its customers when they need it most.

“Our deep-rooted understanding of issues pertinent to Tasmanians, coupled with our superior service, sets us apart,” he said.

As RACT celebrates this award, the organisation reiterates its commitment to upholding excellence, fostering road safety, and contributing positively to the Tasmanian community.
