Dr Teresa Senserrick

Director, Western Australian Centre for Road Safety Research

Professor Teresa Senserrick PhD AFHEA(Indigenous Knowledges) is a Professor at The University of Western Australia (UWA), located on Whadjuk Noongar country in Boorloo (Perth). 

As Director of the Western Australian Centre for Road Safety Research, a joint initiative of UWA and the WA Road Safety Commission, she continues a research career dedicated to road safety since 1999. Her extensive experience spans consecutive positions in Australian and United States university or affiliated research centres, with projects extending across multiple high- and low-to-middle-income countries. 

With her background in developmental psychology, Professor Senserrick specialises in improving safety for youth and young adults as new drivers and motorcycle riders, as well as children travelling around schools. She is recognised for her expertise in road safety education, training and licensing systems, with a particular focus on equity and transport justice for First Peoples and, more recently, neurodivergent young adults.
