Kathryn Westwood
Chair, Catholic Education Commission Tasmania
Kathryn Westwood is an accomplished board chair and non-executive director with more than 15 years of governance experience across diverse Tasmanian industries including forestry, water, insurance, and education.
Currently serving as Chair of the Catholic Education Commission Tasmania and as a Director for both Sustainable Timber Tasmania and TasWater, Kathryn brings extensive expertise in financial management, risk oversight, and corporate governance to her board roles.
Kathryn's professional background includes significant executive leadership experience, currently as GM Commercial and Risk at Stornoway. Her career spans senior financial and commercial roles at major Tasmanian organisations including Nyrstar where she managed finance operations for a facility representing 25% of the state's exports.
With a deep understanding of Tasmania's business landscape, Kathryn has particular expertise in board committee leadership, having chaired numerous audits, risk, people and culture, and investment committees. Her experience with RACT as both Board Chair/President (2017-2021) and as a director of RACT Insurance demonstrates her commitment to organisations that serve the Tasmanian community.
Kathryn holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Tasmania and is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
