For each other.
There's a trait Tasmanians share: we look out for each other. Quietly, without fuss. It's just what we do here.
Across Tasmania, people show up for each other.
We see it during the big disasters, but more often it's there in the little moments.
A neighbour popping your bin out, a volunteer turning up with a smile, a stranger pausing to check if they can help.
It rarely makes the news, but it's what people remember most.
We Asked. You Answered.
Over the past year, we have asked Tasmanians what makes this place special.
The answers came back again and again, in different words but with the same shape: Tasmanians show up for each other.
We think that's worth celebrating more, and it inspired our latest advertisement.
Our West Coast Film Shoot
To capture what "For Each Other" really means, we headed to Trial Harbour - a small west coast town of about 14 people, with no mains power and no town water, to film the ad.
We were welcomed into warm kitchens, offered tea and easy conversation. Nothing was staged; it's simply how the town works.
We met retired miner David, the Fire Chief, who checks in on older residents simply because he's one of the "younger ones". And Peter, nicknamed the Sheriff, who told us plainly: they care for each other because they haven't got anything else. It's a silent understanding.
We fell more than a little in love with the place and the people who shared it with us. We captured this story on the shores of that town, and we're hoping it's a story every Tasmanian can feel part of.
