RACT at Agfest 2025

This year we were proud to be silver sponsors of Agfest and share our road safety message with more than 60,000 people across three days.

From 1 - 3 May this year we were at Agfest to share one clear message with the community: everyone has a role to play in making Tassie's roads safer.

Our road safety crash installation from our More Than a Statistic campaign joined us at Agfest, where it helped promote our road safety message as it spilled out into our site. Keep an eye out for the installation as it continues to travel around Tasmania.

Our 'MORE' collaborative activity invited attendees to pledge to have road safety conversations with loved ones by weaving string on an installation to spell out the word 'MORE'. Participants could opt to use orange string for conversations with their friends, pink string for conversations with their family or yellow string for conversations with their community. Over 1,300 people have pledged so far, if you weren't at Agfest but would love to have a go, you can visit RACT house to contribute to the wall and commit to having more conversations with your loved ones.

We had something for all ages at our site with our Passenger Power cards that encouraged children to play a powerful role in the car, making sure everyone is safe on the road. Children were invited to pick from four superpower options to aid safe travel including, Seatbelt Checker, Speed Supervisor, Mobile Monitor and Distraction Detector. The activity cards serve as a continuin reminder for passengers to contribute to making Tassie's roads safer for everyone. We'll continue to share our Passenger Power cards with the community when delivering our road safety education programs.

After visiting our site at Agfest, attendees shared that 92% learned something (56% learned a lot, 36% a little) and 89% said the visit encouraged them to take action for safer roads (58% a lot, 31% a little). We loved being able to share our commitment to safer roads in Tasmania with our broader community and we look forward to continuing to share this message.
