RACT partners with Council of the Ageing to connect generations

RACT is proud to announce a new partnership with the Council of the Ageing (COTA) Tasmania, strengthening our commitment to supporting older Tasmanians to stay safe, connected and mobile.

For many members, RACT has been part of their life for decades. This partnership recognises that long-standing connection and builds on the work already underway through our Community Education team, who deliver road safety and awareness sessions to hundreds of experienced drivers each year.

The partnership is already making an impact. During the recent Generations Connect Fun Day in Hobart, more than 1,100 people came together to share in a day designed for all ages. The RACT Community team spoke with hundreds of attendees, many of whom proudly shared stories about their history with RACT.

Moments like these show the value of bringing generations together. Seeing young people, families and older Tasmanians connecting in the same space, learning from each other and simply enjoying time together reminds us that community is strongest when it’s shared.

COTA Tasmania plays a vital role in advocating for older people, and this partnership allows RACT to better understand what matters most at every stage of life. It also strengthens our focus on positive ageing and safer transport outcomes across Tasmania.

Looking ahead, RACT will continue working with COTA, including supporting Celebrate Ageing Seniors Month this October, an opportunity to recognise the contributions older Tasmanians make every day.

The Seniors Month program guides will be in all RACT stores across Tasmania from late August.
