Youth Road Safety
We're committed to creating a safer future for young Tasmanians through collaboration, advocacy and education.
Road trauma remains one of the leading causes of death for young Tasmanians.
We believe real change comes from listening to the people affected and working with them to find solutions, and learners and supervisors told us they need more support.
That's why we launched Alongside, our pilot youth road safety program to help learners and their supervisors make the most of the learning-to-drive experience.
It's part of our wider commitment to making Tasmania's roads safer for everyone, from advocacy and infrastructure to education and community support.
Alongside
Alongside is RACT's pilot youth road safety program, helping learners, supervisors and young drivers build confidence behind the wheel. Backed by state government funding and world-leading research, we're working with Tasmanian communities to make the path to a licence safer for everyone.
Help us shape a new digital tool for learners
Are you currently or have you recently been teaching a young person to drive? Whether you're a parent, grandparent or mentor guiding a learner through the first stages of their driving journey, we would love your help to test our new app.
Road rules quizzes
Learning the road rules can be really confusing for new drivers. Test your knowledge with one of our quizzes, then challenge your friends and family to test themselves too.
