    Things to remember when visiting a national park.

    • Plan ahead

      Buy your national parks pass and research where you’re going. If you’re heading out on the trails, it’s also a good idea to carry a map and to register at the start of the track. Prepare for all kinds of weather and check if there are any emergency warnings. 

    • Clean up

      Rubbish doesn’t belong in national parks. Take your rubbish and food scraps with you when you leave a campsite or rest stop. If you’re camping overnight, pack up your belongings so animals are less likely to find them. 

    • Be respectful

      We know they’re cute, but it’s best to watch animals from a distance. Please don’t feed them. Respect Aboriginal sites and leave rocks and plants how you find them. Always stick to known walking tracks and campsites to avoid damaging the environment or getting lost.

    • Enjoy

      Get out there and enjoy! Listen to the natural sounds and take in what we think are some of the best views in the world. Whether you’re a local or just visiting, we can all do our bit to protect Tassie’s national parks into the future.
