What you'll need to bring in with you in store
Passport photo - a passport style photo with a plain white background. If you're applying online, you can use a free passport photo app on your phone.
Drivers licence - a clear and readable scan of the front and back of your licence. We can’t accept temporary licences. You’ll need to wait until you get your actual licence before you can apply.
Apply online
You can also apply online. We'll deliver your IDP within 3 business days for metro areas. Please allow longer for public holidays, regional or international deliveries. Or you can choose to collect from an RACT store, see below - after 2 business days. You’ll receive an email notification when it’s ready to collect. For security purposes, applicants must collect their own IDP and present valid ID.
The Australian Automobile Association (AAA) is the only authorised distributor of IDPs for Australian driver's licence holders. RACT will process your IDP on behalf of the AAA as their sales agent.
